Legal
Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: June 24, 2026
2.1 Bound Contractual Relationship
These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding contractual agreement between NurseHostel and any individual accessing or registering an account on NurseHostel.com. By entering, browsing, or interacting with the platform, you express your absolute acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately terminate your active platform session and delete your account.
2.2 Operational Scope & Limitation of Marketplace Liability
NurseHostel operates strictly as a specialized, multi-regional digital marketplace directory designed to connect healthcare and academic students with independent landlords, property owners, and accommodation managers ("Hosts").
- No Ownership or Agency: NurseHostel does not own, lease, manage, operate, inspect, or insure any real estate asset or room listing displayed on the website.
- Independent Contracting: Any tenancy, lease, or financial booking transaction is executed strictly and directly between the Student and the Host. NurseHostel is not a party to, nor an intermediary of, any rental contract.
- Disclaimer of Warranty: We explicitly disclaim all liability regarding the physical safety, sanitary conditions, utility continuity, structural security, or legal registration status of listed properties. It is the sole responsibility of both parties to perform standard due diligence before concluding an agreement.
2.3 User Verification & Account Integrity
Users must provide accurate, current, and verifiable information during the platform registration sequence. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the absolute confidentiality of your login credentials and for all operations executed under your account profile. You must notify us instantly at security@nursehostel.com if you detect any unauthorized breach or compromise of your dashboard interface.
2.4 Structural Media Standards & System Abuse Prohibitions
To preserve the performance, grid consistency, and visual integrity of our application interfaces, all users must adhere to strict data-upload criteria:
- Size Restrictions: The frontend client-side upload hook enforces a hard operational cap of 10 Megabytes (MB) per file. Any file exceeding this limit is blocked automatically before transmission.
- MIME-Type Integrity: Users must not attempt to spoof file extensions, alter byte headers, or wrap malicious binary payloads inside image filenames. Files must be authentic JPEG, PNG, or WEBP graphics files.
- Security & Exploitation Auditing: Any attempt to bypass our automated metadata-cleansing routines, inject executable code loops, scan our serverless runtime environment for vulnerabilities, or disrupt our active API routes will result in the immediate, permanent termination of your platform account and a direct referral to local cybersecurity law enforcement authorities.
2.5 Dynamic Intellectual Property & Watermarking License
To combat illegal property image cloning and prevent malicious cross-platform content scraping, our system processes all listing images through an automated backend layout engine.
By uploading any photograph or asset to NurseHostel.com, you represent that you own the exclusive copyright to that media file.
You hereby grant NurseHostel a non-exclusive, royalty-free, global, transferable, sub-licensable license to host, resize, convert, compress, distribute, and display your uploaded photographs.
You explicitly authorize NurseHostel to permanently superimpose our corporate brand watermark onto your uploaded property photos. This watermark is applied automatically via server-side pixel blending layer algorithms. If you deactivate or delete your listing, the linked image reference pointers inside our database schema are broken, and the underlying file asset is removed from our live global edge content delivery network cache.
2.6 Regional Location Fallbacks & Currency Multipliers
Our network layer uses Cloudflare IP location lookups to automatically detect the geographic region of an incoming visitor session.
If a student accesses the platform from Kenya, the system will dynamically format display prices using Kenyan Shillings (KES). If they browse from Nigeria, it switches to Nigerian Naira (NGN).
If our database query returns zero active property listings within a student's native detected country, the home feed component will execute an automated fallback routine to populate the interface with primary listing options from Ghana (GHS) to ensure a functional, rich UI experience instead of a blank screen.
Exchange Rate Reference Disclaimers: Currency conversions displayed on the platform are driven by an automated background CRON process synchronized daily with international exchange API layers. These conversions are provided purely as general pricing reference guidelines. Final financial settlement, booking deposits, and lease obligations remain governed by the base currency terms set natively by the listing's Host.
2.7 Indemnification Clause
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NurseHostel, its directors, officers, employees, and cloud architecture provider partners from and against any third-party claims, legal losses, damages, structural liabilities, costs, or processing expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising directly or indirectly from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the platform interfaces, your uploaded media files, or your violation of any local statutory laws or tenant-landlord regulations.
